STEPHANIE BINTER, PSY.D., CBIS

I am a licensed psychologist with a certification in neuropsychology. I graduated from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine with a doctoral degree in clinical psychology and a certification in neuropsychology.

I enjoy conducting a variety of neurological and psychological testing, including forensic assessments, within the prison population, psychoeducational, and general mental health assessments to aid in the differential diagnosis. I am trained in forensic assessment, completing risk assessments for sex offending and fire setting behaviors, amenability evaluations, diagnostic evaluations for adults and juveniles within the adult and juvenile justice systems and child protective services, and assessing for trauma via serious emotional injury.

I also enjoy working with the prison population, providing mental health evaluations to explore the presence and impact of mental health concerns of their current functioning as well as make treatment recommendations. Additionally, I  have experience with assessing for police and firefighter candidacy, fitness for duty, and ability to carry a lethal weapon. Furthermore, I  am trained in conducting evaluations that assess for the impact of mental health concerns on treatment and prognosis following spinal stimulator and bariatric surgeries.

Psychological and neuropsychological testing provides information to aid in the differential diagnosis as well as providing greater understanding of the individuals strengths and weaknesses. By discovering the individuals strength, we can then develop a comprehensive treatment plan to bolster areas of weakness. This is also true in assessing general mental health. The more that is known about the individual and the strength that they possess, the better we can develop a treatment plan and assist them on their road to success.

In terms of my therapeutic orientation, I am a trained Cognitive Behavioral therapist who specializes with eating disorders, self-mutilation, and trauma. I have also been a supervising psychologist for a predoctoral internship program.
